IMODIUM INSTANTS 2MG TABLETS

Imodium Instants is a form of treatment for the relief of diarrhoea. These tablets can be used for 2 types of diarrhoea, short-term diarrhoea and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) diarrhoea. The active ingredient in these tablets is loperamide. Loperamide is a drug that works by slowing down bowel movements, which allows for more water to be absorbed into the body that has been lost as a result of diarrhoea.

There are a number of potential causes of diarrhoea, and it may not always be obvious. Potential causes of diarrhoea include:

• A stomach bug
• Norovirus – also known as the vomiting bug
• Food poisoning
• A side effect of medicines
• A food allergy
• IBS
• Inflammatory bowel disease
• Coeliac disease
• Diverticular disease

Diarrhoea is usually a short-term condition and only lasts for 5-7 days.
