Sudafed is a decongestant that acts mainly on the nasal mucosa and the sinuses and so helps alleviate the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, non-allergic rhinitis, the common cold and flu. It will relieve sinus congestion, sinus pressure and catarrh.
Not suitable for children under 12, pregnant women or breast-feeding mothers.
This medicine should not be taken by anyone taking MAOI's or mono-amine oxidase inhibitors, anyone with cardiovascular disease including hypertension or anyone taking beta-blockers, anyone with diabetes mellitus, phaeochromocytoma, hyperthroidism, closed angle glaucoma or sever renal impairment.
OTC
Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 60 mg per tablet.
Adults and Children over 12: One tablet every 4-6 hours to a maximum of four tablets in 24 hours.
Do not take for longer than 5 days or rebound congestion can occur which is worse than the original congestion.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
