Description

Vermox is used to treat threadworms and other common worm infestations of the gut such as whipworms, roundworms, hookworms. This medicine can be used by adults and children over 2.

Threadworms are tiny, white parasitic worms that live in the bowel, approx half an inch long and they resemble threads of cotton. They are present in house dust, and stick to clothing, carpets, towels and bed linen, also they can be picked up in garden soil, or unwashed vegetables or salads.

Threadworms are not harmful but can be extremely irritating. The most obvious symptom is intense itching of the anal area, especially at night, female worms migrate to the anal area at night to lay their eggs.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is mebendazole.

How to Use

Threadworms: One 5ml spoonful now, then repeat in 2-4 weeks.

Common worm infections: One 5ml spoonful morning and evening for three days.

The whole family should be treated at the same time. Threadworms are extremely easy to pass on so even if other family members are symptom free, they may already have the infection.

Tips to avoid re-infection:

Keep nails short, discourage nail biting or finger sucking.

Wear pyjamas or underclothes in bed.

Wash around the bottom in the morning, towel dry using a towel for each person.

Wash and iron bed linen.

Thoroughly wash hands and nails after using the toilet and before each meal.
